Biography of Hubert Bourdy
Settled in Marlieux, Ain, since 1989, Hubert Bourdy embarked on his career as a professional rider when he was 23. He was first selected to ride for the French team in 1983, and in the two decades since then has won a series of titles and victories in the Mediterranean Games, Olympic Games, European and French championships.
Today, he manages about 60 horses, most of them in co-ownership. Hubert Bourdy’s activity at La Grange Blanche (the White Barn) extends over 44 loose boxes, show preparatory facilities, tackrooms, a generous indoor arena (25x60), an outdoor arena (80x40) and a spring garden in Prosol with watering automated system.
Inspired by the German School, and above all by Ian Tops (Horse trader and Dutch CSI rider), Hubert Bourdy’s method is based on the transparency of transactions and on a rigorous selection of products. As far as the organisation of the business is concerned, this is based on family principles and values, whilst maintaining confidentiality and professionalism, with riders that Jérôme RINGOT or Guilhem Mayet, and half-a-dozen grooms...
An active international network provides him with business opportunities. His network is focused on Holland and Germany via Ian Tops, in Switzerland via Jean-Baptiste Lutta, and in France. Horses are spotted, detected and evaluated thanks to contacts and to numerous videos.
